Helpscout to Richpanel Import Guide
Prerequisites
- Active Helpscout account with admin access
- Active Richpanel account with admin access
Step 1: Create Helpscout App
- Log into your Helpscout account
- Navigate to Profile → My Apps (https://secure.helpscout.net)
- Click on the "Create My App" button
- Fill in the app details:
- App Name: "Richpanel Import"
- Redirection URL: "https://app.richpanel.com"
- Click "Create"
- Helpscout will generate two important credentials:
- App ID
- App Secret
⚠️ Important: Save these credentials as you'll need them in later steps.
Step 2: Access Richpanel Importer
- Log into your Richpanel account (https://app.richpanel.com)
- Navigate to Settings → Helpdesk Importer (https://app.richpanel.com/settings/data-import)
- Click the "Import data" button in the top right corner
Step 3: Configure Import Settings
- In the helpdesk selection screen:
- Choose "Helpscout" from the available options
- Click "Proceed"
- Enter the required credentials:
- App Name: Your Helpscout domain name (found in Helpscout under Manage → Company (https://secure.helpscout.net/settings/company/))
- App ID: The ID generated in Step 1
- App Secret: The secret generated in Step 1
- Configure import options:
- Select import type:
- Full Import: To import all historical data
- Custom Date Range: To import data from a specific period
- Choose entities to import:
- Agents and Teams
- Custom Fields and Properties
- Tags
- Saved Replies
- Conversations & messages
Step 4: Start the Import
- Review your selections
- Click "Start Import" to begin the process
Important Notes
- The import process duration depends on the amount of data being transferred
- Any changes made in Helpscout after starting the import will not be reflected in Richpanel
- You can enable real-time sync after the import is completed
- The import progress can be monitored from the Helpdesk Importer screen
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues:
- Verify that your App ID and App Secret are entered correctly
- Ensure your Helpscout account has the necessary permissions
- Check that your Richpanel account is properly configured to receive imports
