Configuring Widget Position and Visibility in Richpanel
Richpanel offers a customizable chat widget that allows you to engage with your website visitors directly. This guide walks you through configuring the widget's position, visibility settings, and other customization options.
1. Widget Position Settings
To determine where your chat widget appears on your website:
- Widget Icon Position: Choose whether you want the widget icon to appear on the left or right side of the page. This can help align with your website’s design and improve user accessibility.
- Spacing from Side and Bottom: Adjust the spacing from the side and bottom of the page using pixel values. This feature allows you to fine-tune the widget's placement to avoid overlapping with other website elements.
2. Visibility Settings
Control when and to whom your chat widget is visible:
- Hide Widget on Mobile Website: Use this toggle to control whether the chat widget is visible on mobile devices. If your mobile layout doesn't support the chat widget well, you can choose to hide it.
- Who Can View the Widget?: Choose the audience for the widget:
- All Users: Display the widget to everyone who visits your site.
- Only Visitors: Show the widget only to visitors in your site.
- Only Customers: Display the widget exclusively to customers.
- Set Timings for Widget Display: Determine when the widget should be visible:
- Visible at all times: The widget is always visible, providing constant access to customer support.
- Only during specific hours: Set specific hours when the widget will appear, which is useful for aligning with your support team's working hours.
- Delay When Loading Widget: You can set a delay in seconds before the chat widget appears after the page loads. This is helpful if you want to avoid overwhelming visitors immediately upon arrival.
- Which Pages Should the Widget Be Visible On?: Customize where the widget appears on your website:
- Show widget on all pages: The widget appears on every page.
- Show widget on specific pages: The widget appears only on designated pages. You can specify URLs to control its placement, helping you target key areas like support pages or checkout flows.
3. Badge Customization
- Select Badge: Choose the icon that will represent the chat widget on your website. Options typically include a simple chat bubble or a more engaging "Chat with us" prompt. This choice can influence how inviting or noticeable the widget is to your visitors.
4. Advanced Settings
Richpanel offers a few advanced settings to further customize the behavior of your chat widget:
- Set Z-Index: Adjust the Z-index of the widget to control its stacking order on the webpage. This setting determines whether the chat widget appears in front of or behind other elements on the page, ensuring it remains visible and accessible to users.
- SPA Website: Toggle this option on if your website is a Single Page Application (SPA). An SPA dynamically updates content within a single page, offering a seamless user experience without requiring full page reloads. Enabling this setting ensures that the chat widget functions correctly and remains responsive across different sections of your SPA.
